Sometimes, life throws signs our way—gentle nudges or loud alarms—urging us to pause, reflect, and change. These moments don’t always come with warnings. But when they do, they have the power to change the course of our journey. Health scares, especially, can become a turning point—not just for survival, but for transformation.
It’s in these very moments that people decide to fight back, learn more, and rewrite their stories. One such story is that of a powerful woman who turned her personal health crisis into a mission to help others live better.
A Life of Service and Dedication
Before her fitness journey began, Capt. Sarita Rajput had already led a life of service. She served in the Indian Army as part of the Military Nursing Services for six years. Her time in uniform was just the beginning of her healthcare career. After leaving the Army, she moved to Singapore and took on the role of a Clinical Coding Analyst in the country’s government hospitals.
With over 12 years of experience in the clinical world, Sarita was no stranger to the importance of good health. She’d spent years caring for others—but like many caregivers, she had unknowingly put her own health on the backseat.
A Health Scare During Pregnancy
In 2019, while she was living in Singapore and pregnant with her second child, everything changed. Routine checkups revealed something serious: she had developed Type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol—all at once. It was a crushing diagnosis.
Sarita was immediately put on insulin injections and came under strict medical supervision. The diagnosis wasn’t just about her—it also impacted her unborn child. She knew she had to take control, not just for herself, but for her family too.
Fighting Back and Reversing Diabetes
With the help of a healthcare professional, she started making serious lifestyle changes. It wasn’t easy—losing weight, managing blood sugar, and staying consistent with a routine during pregnancy takes incredible determination.
But Sarita stuck to the plan. Within a year, she lost 20 kg, reversed her diabetes, and was off all medications. It was a huge win. But there was still one big challenge: maintaining that progress without falling back into old patterns.
Starting Fresh With FITTR and INFS
She soon realized that restrictive diets were not sustainable for the long run. That’s when she discovered the FITTR community. Watching others transform their lives through a quantified diet and well-structured workouts opened her eyes to a new approach—one that was practical, flexible, and science-backed.
In 2022, when she moved back to India with her family, among all the changes that came with relocation, she set one goal for herself—enroll in the INFS Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness. It wasn’t an easy decision. She was a mother of two, adjusting to a new environment, and still working on her personal fitness goals. But she was determined.
She listened to lectures during workouts, made her own notes late at night, and stayed disciplined even on the most hectic days. The course was challenging, but she never gave up. After 1.5 years of dedication, she appeared for the final exam—and passed in the 98th percentile, in her very first attempt.
Becoming a Coach and Inspiring Others
Today, Sarita is a proud FITTR Coach. She combines her clinical knowledge with her personal journey to guide others on their fitness paths. She works with clients from all walks of life—especially women who are navigating health issues, motherhood, or major life transitions.
Sarita believes that no challenge is too big if you stay committed. Whether it’s a health issue, a busy schedule, or a new life chapter—every step forward counts.
