From Skinny Kid to ICN Champion: Leo Percival Richard’s Journey

Some people are told they’re not good enough. Some are made to believe they will never succeed. But the truth is—your past does not define you. Your efforts do.

Leo Percival Richard’s story is one of struggles, setbacks, and an unstoppable will to change. From being called weak and fragile to standing on a fitness competition stage as a champion, his journey wasn’t easy. There were challenges. There were moments of doubt. And there were times he felt completely lost.

Here’s how he turned his life around, step by step.

The Small Beginnings

Growing up, Leo was a skinny kid. People called him weak, fragile, and too short. These words followed him everywhere. No one believed he could ever be strong.

When he finished 12th grade, he made a decision—he joined the gym. He was excited, but not everyone shared his enthusiasm. Some people laughed at him, saying he wouldn’t even be able to lift a dumbbell. But Leo didn’t quit. He trained hard, focused on strength, and built lean muscle. He finally started seeing results. But there was one problem—he had no idea about nutrition.

Like many beginners, he believed that as long as he worked out, he could eat whatever he wanted. He never tracked his food or thought about calories. But things changed when the pandemic hit.

Losing Control: A Setback That Changed Everything.

When gyms shut down, Leo’s routine fell apart. Life became stressful, and he turned to unhealthy habits. He stopped being active. He ate without thinking. His confidence dropped.

At his heaviest weight, he felt disconnected from his body. He didn’t recognize the person in the mirror. He felt lost. That’s when he found FITTR.

Taking Charge: The Transformation Begins

Leo joined FITTR and started learning about calorie deficits, protein intake, hydration, and sleep. He followed a simple plan—walk 10,000 steps a day, eat the right foods, and sleep well. With the support of his coach and the FITTR community, he made small but consistent changes. These small steps transformed his body and mindset.

And soon, the results spoke for themselves. Leo didn’t just get back in shape—he took things to a whole new level. He competed in ICN 2023, a prestigious fitness competition, and won Overall Street Model. He also placed 2nd in Men’s Fitness and 3rd in Men’s Physique.

The same person who was once mocked for being weak was now standing on stage as a champion.

A Birthday Gift That Changed His Life

Leo’s love for fitness kept growing. He spent hours discussing nutrition, workouts, and fitness science with his wife. One day, she surprised him with the perfect birthday gift—she secretly enrolled him in the INFS Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness.

At INFS, Leo finally understood the science behind fitness. He learned that fitness isn’t just about lifting weights or looking good. It’s about balance, sustainability, and building habits that last a lifetime. What started as a personal transformation became something much bigger.

Leo realized he didn’t just want to work on his own fitness. He wanted to help others take control of their health.

Fitness Is a Lifelong Journey

For Leo, fitness isn’t about a 12-week or 24-week plan. It’s about understanding your body, making smart choices, and creating a lifestyle that lasts forever. As a certified fitness and nutrition coach, he now helps others break past their struggles, believe in themselves, and achieve their best version.

Leo’s journey proves that no matter where you start, you can always rewrite your story.
