From Skinny to Strong: Ankit Chandwani’s Fitness Journey

Ever felt frustrated with your fitness journey? Trying everything but not seeing results? That’s exactly what happened with Ankit Chandwani. He loved working out, but no matter how hard he trained, he struggled to gain muscle. His diet wasn’t right, and his progress was slow. Over the years, he tried different approaches, but instead of building the physique he wanted, he gained 27 kgs of body fat. He could have given up, but instead, he chose to learn, adapt, and transform. And that decision changed everything.

A Small Beginning

Ankit’s fitness journey began in 2014 during his college days. He was 47 kgs and wanted to gain muscle and feel stronger. With excitement, he joined the gym and started training.

But he soon realized that lifting weights alone wasn’t enough. Despite his efforts, he struggled to gain muscle because his diet wasn’t right. Over the years, he tried different approaches, eating more to gain size.

Instead of building muscle, he ended up gaining 27 kgs—most of it as body fat. His body wasn’t what he had imagined.

Turning Things Around With FITTR and INFS

Ankit had been following FITTR’s Facebook group for a while but never fully applied what he learned. This time, he decided to take things seriously. With advice from the group members, he fixed his diet based on proper nutrition, tracked calories to make informed food choices, and started training with a structured plan instead of just lifting weights.

Soon with this approach, he lost 10 kgs, shed body fat, and built lean muscle. More than the physical changes, he felt stronger, more confident, and in control of his fitness and health. This transformation inspired him to understand the science behind it, leading him to enroll in the INFS Foundation and Expert courses (now the Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness).

He learned about nutrition and how food impacts energy, muscle growth, and fat loss. He understood meal planning and how to eat based on personal goals. The more he learned, the more his approach to fitness changed. He no longer followed random diets or extreme workouts. Instead, he applied science-backed methods—and the results spoke for themselves.

Helping Others Transform as a FITTR Coach

Today, as a coach, Ankit combines his 13 years of training experience with over a decade of coaching individuals to guide his clients toward sustainable fat loss and muscle gain. In just the last two years, he has helped over 450 people transform their fitness through FITTR.

For Ankit, fitness isn’t just about workouts and diet—it’s about building the right mindset. He helps his clients by teaching them how to train effectively, not just lift weights, but do it with purpose. He guides them on how to eat right without giving up the foods they love. He also helps them build lifelong habits so fitness becomes a lifestyle, not a short-term fix.
