Nafeesa Saleh started her journey with INFS as an FTP client. Being obese since childhood, nothing seemed to work for her. She enrolled under a coach, which set the stage for her incredible journey of helping herself and others on the way.
Here’s her story in her own words.
The Struggle With Weight
Hello! I’m Nafeesa, an engineering teaching professional and a Fitness and Nutrition coach. Growing up, I was always obese. I tried countless methods to lose weight and become healthier, but nothing seemed to work long-term. Every time I returned to regular eating, the weight came back. Despite my efforts, I felt stuck and frustrated.
Starting Fresh With FITTR and INFS
Things changed when a friend introduced me to FITTR. Soon, I discovered the INFS FTP program and decided to give it a try. Soon after enrolling with a Coach, I started to lose weight and saw visible results. So much so that people started asking me about my journey and how they could achieve similar results. This inspired me to enroll in the INFS Diploma Course to gain a deeper understanding of the right nutrition and fitness and help others as well.
Overcoming Challenges on the Way
I enrolled in the INFS Diploma in late 2021 and took the basics exam right away. Being an active member of the FITTR group and INFS page, I had access to a wealth of blogs, posts, and content that made the basics exam quite manageable. However, balancing a busy work life with my studies meant a gap in my INFS preparation.
In the second half of 2023, I resumed my studies with renewed focus. I prepared for the INFS core Diploma exam with about 15 days of dedicated study while working. I read the chapters thoroughly, watched the recorded lectures, and made notes on challenging topics. Webinar videos and engaging with INFS’s resources provided valuable insights into practical applications.
Alongside this, I enrolled in the Clinical Nutrition course by INFS to learn about lifestyle disorders. This additional knowledge further strengthened my expertise and prepared me for my role as a fitness coach.
As I prepared for the interview, I knew I would undergo a condition check, so I worked on improving my physique over several months. I also reviewed diet and workout plans for my FTP clients, identifying areas where I could improve. Continuous engagement with this community over the past five years has given me practical insights that were invaluable during this time.
Achieving the Dream
I still remember writing in my diary in 2021 that I wanted to become a FITTR coach. Achieving this goal today feels incredible. Being part of the family and receiving support from Fitizens is truly amazing. I am grateful to this wonderful community and the opportunities it has provided me to become a coach myself and help others in their journeys.
