From A Techie To A Trainer – Pratham Wadhwa’s Journey

If you’ve ever been afraid to follow your passion because of the fear of failure, let Pratham Wadhwa’s story inspire you. He left behind his stable job to pursue his true calling—coaching and mentoring people. Today, he is building a successful career out of what he loves, proving that with courage and commitment, you can turn your passions into a thriving reality.

Here’s how he made it happen.

Exploring The True Calling

Hi there! I’m Pratham, a former IT engineer and now a fitness coach and mentor. My initial years were spent in the tech world, working with codes and systems. While it was fulfilling, I found myself yearning for something more meaningful—a way to help people grow and achieve their best selves. So, in 2015, I started exploring coaching and mentoring. I also voluntarily worked with several coaches to learn about coaching and people development.

Things started when I and my wife decided to get fit before becoming parents, in order to avoid health issues in the future and be able to set an example for our child. And soon, FITTR happened!

The Beginning with FITTR and INFS

My journey took a turn when a close friend of mine introduced me to the FITTR Facebook group. Soon, during the COVID pandemic, me and my wife started with home workouts and a balanced diet and even saw good results.

This got me interested to explore the science behind nutrition and fitness. I discovered INFS through the FITTR group and enrolled in their Foundation and Expert Courses (now upgraded to The Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness) to improve my knowledge and become a certified coach to guide others in their journeys.

Keeping It Simple and Consistent On The Way

For my exams, I kept it simple. Instead of rushing through all the material, I focused on one topic at a time. I read, re-read, watched recorded lectures, and revised until I felt confident before moving on. Consistency was crucial—I dedicated an hour each day to studying. This straightforward approach worked well for me, and I passed the exam without overthinking much.

For the FTP, the INFS Scholar group was incredibly helpful. Engaging with posts from faculty and fellow students, and applying what I learned practically, made me feel well-prepared. For the interviews, I went through podcasts, and articles about nutrition and exercise, and revised the books thoroughly.

A New Purpose To Life

Today, being part of a team that aims to help 50 million people live their healthiest lives is incredibly rewarding. As a coach, my goal is to guide and inspire others to improve their lifestyle and overall health.

Here are some inspiring words from Pratham for everyone on their fitness journey:

Fitness, like relationships and jobs, is a key part of life. Remember, your fitness journey is personal and you cannot compare it with others. Focus on how you want to feel, not how others perceive you. Let your progress be your biggest motivator!
