Fitness coaches are those individuals who shape others’ lives in the literal sense. Not only do they help one with weight loss or muscle gain but also educate them about leading a sustainable lifestyle. It wouldn’t be too wrong to say that a coach is no less than a guru or a teacher. Living these words is our INFS alumnus – Ruchi Bhardwaj Barah.
Once an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at NIT, Silchar, Assam, and also a chemistry teacher in schools, Ruchi has decided to continue walking along the path of educating others by becoming a fitness professional. It is just as she says – “Once a teacher, always a teacher”.
Defying Age and Gender Norms
Ruchi is 43 years old and a mother of two beautiful daughters aged 13 and 10. While most women of her age tend to ignore their health being busy with their work-life and looking after their children, Ruchi is prioritizing her fitness and striving to transform others’ lives, especially of women from her age group. As a fitness coach, she wishes to help those women who are struggling with weight loss owing to their divided attention to several other responsibilities. She wants to empower women with knowledge and make them feel stronger, physically and mentally.
Cracking the INFS Diploma Course
Ruchi discovered the INFS Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness through her close friend and coach Dr. Priya Jacob. She realized that by applying for the course, she will be one step closer to achieving her goal of transforming other women. Enrolling in the course, Ruchi gave it her all. With hard work, determination, and a strategic approach, Ruchi emerged as one of the toppers of the month, passing the Diploma exam with flying colors!
Adopting the Old-School Approach for Studies
When asked what was her study routine, Ruchi said that she tried to attend live lectures as much as possible and watched the recorded sessions at times. But, over everything, she mostly depended on the textbooks. Going the old-school way, she read the textbooks through and through for understanding all the topics better.
Her other favorite factor of the INFS Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness was the study group which is a unique initiative started by INFS. It involves a batch of around 25 students and a dedicated faculty guide who covers all practical aspects of nutrition planning and training program designing, along with coaching skills and client handling.
Embracing the Most Simple Strategy
Ruchi followed the most simple plan of action to complete her diploma. She attended the live lectures where she could get her doubts cleared instantly. Then, she never missed any study group discussions as they played an instrumental role in giving her practical knowledge. One of the best practices she followed was to keep reading each topic that was discussed in the group study sessions. Ruchi neither thought the course to be very easy nor too difficult. But, she studied everything thoroughly to be the topper!
Planning Future in The Fitness Industry
Ruchi aims at building a commendable career in the fitness industry. She wishes to make a name by transforming as many lives as possible. Her goal is to practice what she preaches, and wants her work and workouts to speak for herself.
Ruchi is certainly giving some solid goals to all those who have enrolled in the Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness. We wish her all the best and hope she continues achieving success in all her future endeavors!
