Life doesn’t always go the way we plan. Sometimes, the dreams we hold closest to our hearts slip through our fingers, leaving behind disappointment and self-doubt. The setback, the rejection, the failure can sometimes feel like the end of the road. And yet, if you look closely, these very moments have the power to awaken something stronger inside us.
That’s exactly what happened to Adarsh, whose journey from rejection to reclaiming himself reminds us that sometimes, what feels like the end is only the beginning.
The First Setback
Hi, I am Adarsh Dwivedi, an INFS scholar, now a certified fitness and nutrition coach at FITTR. Growing up, my only dream was to join the Indian Army. I wanted to serve my country with pride and honor. But when I went for the selection, I didn’t make it. My bodyweight was just 47 kgs. I looked thin, I felt weak, and deep inside, I was underconfident. I realized I was never physically or mentally strong enough.
So to build my strength, I joined a gym. But without proper knowledge, improper form only brought injuries. Progress never came the way I expected. Soon came the lockdown. I turned to binge eating for comfort. Slowly, before I knew, I reached 88 kgs. From weak and skinny, I became overweight and sluggish. For a while, I felt like I had lost all control over my health.
Choosing Not to Quit
But something inside me didn’t allow me to quit. I started searching online, reading whatever I could about training and nutrition. I tried small things… tweaking my diet, exercising at home, applying bits of knowledge I found. Slowly, I started seeing little changes.
One day at the gym, I heard about FITTR and INFS. By then, I was already helping a few friends with whatever I knew. But I realized something important: if I wanted to really transform myself and guide others, I needed the right knowledge.
That’s when I decided to enroll in the INFS Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness.
Knowledge That Changed Everything
Joining INFS was one of the best decisions of my life. The Diploma gave me much more than book knowledge. For the exams, I focused on understanding concepts instead of just memorizing. Going through the INFS study material regularly, making notes, and revising multiple times really helped me strengthen my grasp on the subject.
The Free Training Program (FTP) was like handling a real client case study. I worked step by step, starting with client assessment, then planning nutrition and workouts based on their goals, while ensuring the approach was both practical and sustainable. I learned how to design sustainable fitness and nutrition plans, understand the different challenges clients face, and guide people with empathy and confidence, just like a professional coach!
Today, I weigh 72 kgs, with 12–13% body fat and strong muscle mass. More importantly, the journey taught me discipline, consistency, and how to apply my knowledge in real life.
Adarsh, as a certified coach, works with clients who, like him, may feel stuck or hopeless. And every time he helps someone break through their barriers, he knows he’s fulfilling a purpose greater than the one rejection that once defined him.
When asked what fitness means to him, Adarsh puts it simply:
| “Fitness is not a 30-day transformation; it’s a lifelong journey. Stay disciplined, open to learning, and consistent, and results will always follow.”
