The IT Guy Who Cracked the Fitness Code: Chetan’s Inspiring Journey

Starting a fitness journey sounds easy. But staying on track and making the right choices? That’s where most of us get stuck. A lot of people begin with full motivation—joining the gym, trying new diets, buying fancy supplements. But somewhere along the way, confusion takes over.

There’s just too much advice out there. One day it’s all about high protein, the next it’s keto, and then someone suggests weight gainers or skipping carbs. It’s easy to get lost, feel frustrated, and wonder if you’re doing it all wrong.

The truth is, real transformation doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time, the right knowledge, and a lot of learning from mistakes. This is the story of Chetan Sharma, an IT professional who struggled initially but turned his challenges into stepping stones. Today, he’s not only transformed his own life but is helping others find the right path in their fitness journeys.

Here’s his journey in his own words.

The First Step — Full of Mistakes

Hi, my name is Chetan Sharma. I’m an IT consultant by profession and a fitness coach by passion. My journey into fitness started back in college. Like many others, I wanted to build muscle and look strong. But I had no idea where to begin. I followed random advice available — weight gainers, quick fixes, high-fat diets, and random workout tips that promised quick muscle gains.

But those choices didn’t help me. In fact, instead of gaining lean muscle, I ended up putting on more fat than anything else. I was frustrated and confused. I was working hard, but the results just weren’t there. Deep down, I knew something was missing — the right guidance and the right knowledge.

The Turning Point With FITTR and INFS

Everything changed in 2019 when one of my colleagues introduced me to FITTR. I saw transformation stories — stories of discipline, smart training, and real results. That’s when I decided to sign up with a FITTR coach.

For the first time, I followed a proper workout and diet plan. Within just 2–3 weeks, I saw results. I was more energetic, my clothes fit better, and I could feel my body changing. Over time, I went from 73 kg to 65 kg, lost fat, gained lean muscle, and finally saw my abs for the first time in my life!

As I progressed, my coach noticed my dedication and encouraged me to take things a step further—by competing. At first, I wasn’t sure. Me? On a stage? But I trusted the process and put in the work. Eventually, I was on stage, competing in ICN, and won the silver medal in the Men’s Fitness Open category!

Turning Curiosity Into Purpose

After my transformation, people started noticing. Friends, colleagues, and even strangers at the gym started asking me how I did it. Someone even asked if I was on steroids! That’s when I realized something important—people were struggling just like I did once. They needed help, and I could guide them.

But I didn’t want to just give random basic tips. I wanted to give them real knowledge backed by science. That’s when I decided to enroll in the INFS Diploma In Nutrition And Fitness and become a certified coach myself.

Learning the Science Behind

Enrolling in the INFS Diploma was one of the best decisions of my life. The course helped me understand everything I had been doing—now with scientific reasoning. From how calories work to how different bodies respond to training, I learned it all.

The best part? The 4-week Free Training Program (FTP), where I worked with real clients. This helped me apply what I had learned and build confidence as a coach. I learned how to listen to clients, customize plans, and motivate them through ups and downs.

Balancing Two Worlds

Today, I’m balancing both my IT job and my role as a FITTR coach. It’s not always easy, but when you’re passionate about something, you find time for it. I wake up early, manage my work hours wisely, and stay consistent with my workouts and client check-ins.

I’m not into handing people meal plans or workout charts. I’m here to educate. I want to help people understand their bodies, learn the science behind nutrition and exercise, and make informed choices. Because once you understand how your body works, you no longer fall for quick fixes—you build lifelong habits.

If you’re someone who’s just starting your fitness journey, or if you’ve tried and failed before, I want to say this — don’t give up. You don’t need shortcuts. You need knowledge, consistency, and patience. I’ve made mistakes so you don’t have to. And if I can transform my life while handling a full-time IT job, so can you.
