There comes a point in life where you look at yourself in the mirror and wonder, “How did I get here?” You don’t feel like yourself anymore. You’re tired all the time. Your body doesn’t move the way it used to. Your energy is gone. And worst of all—you start believing this is your new normal.
But deep inside, there’s a small voice that says, “This isn’t who I am. I can come back. I can feel strong again.”
Dr. Divya knows this because she has lived through it—she felt lost, drained, and overwhelmed. But she also found my way back. And if you’re in that place right now, we want you to know—you can too! Here’s her story in her own words.
The Beginning
Hi, I’m Dr. Divya MalarVannan—an anesthetist, a pain specialist, a mom of two, and now, a certified fitness coach. But just a few years ago, I was going through one of the most difficult phases of my life.
After my second baby, my postpartum recovery hit me harder than I ever expected. I felt completely drained—physically and emotionally. My body was so weak that I couldn’t even lift my baby or walk around carrying her. Every simple task felt like a mountain to climb.
To make things worse, my eating habits were all over the place. Some days I skipped meals completely. Other days, I’d munch on whatever junk food was nearby just to get through. There was no structure, no energy, and definitely no motivation.
It felt like everything was falling apart—and I didn’t know where to begin.
A Turning Point With FITTR
But something changed in 2019. I had a moment where I just said to myself, Enough is enough. I couldn’t continue like this anymore. I needed to feel better—not just for me, but for my kids, my family, and my own sense of self.
That’s when I came across FITTR. I joined the platform and started working with a coach. Together, we built a simple plan that worked for my life—nothing extreme, just realistic home workouts and a balanced, personalized diet.
Slowly, things began to shift. I started feeling more energetic. I dropped 10 kgs. But more than the weight loss, I started feeling strong again. One day, I found myself running—with my baby in my arms! That moment brought tears to my eyes because I finally felt like me again. Not just a mom or a doctor—but a woman who had reclaimed her strength.
A New Goal: Learning More With INFS
That moment sparked something bigger inside me. I didn’t want to stop at just getting fit. I wanted to understand fitness and nutrition more deeply—so I could help my family, and maybe even help others one day. So, I enrolled in the INFS Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness.
Let me tell you—it wasn’t easy. I was already juggling two little kids, a demanding medical career, and a household. Finding time to study again felt almost impossible. But the structure of the course helped so much—recorded lectures, supportive faculty, and most importantly, my husband’s constant encouragement kept me going.
I studied during nap times. I revised late at night. And after months of effort, I cleared the diploma on my very first attempt.
Becoming a Certified Fitness Coach
Now, as a certified fitness and nutrition coach at FITTR, I help others who feel the same way I once did—tired, stuck, and unsure where to begin.
I know how hard it can be. I know what it’s like to feel like you’ve lost yourself. That’s why my coaching comes from a place of understanding, not judgment. My goal is not just to help someone lose weight—it’s to help them believe in themselves again.
Dr. Divya strongly believes that fitness isn’t just for athletes or fitness models. It’s for everyone.
“Fitness is for everyone—the grandparents running after grandkids, homemakers lifting heavy grocery bags, or office workers climbing stairs when the elevator’s out. It’s all about priorities and mindset. If I can do it, you can too.” – She says.
There are many women out there who feel stuck after childbirth, struggling to find time for themselves between parenting, work, and home responsibilities. Dr. Divya’s story shows that change is possible. It may take time, and it may be tough—but it’s worth it.
Her journey is not about perfection—it’s about progress. About showing up every day, doing what you can, and believing that you’re capable of more.
