Celebrating Women

Pregnancy and Weight Gain!!

With motherhood comes additional responsibilities. Yes, we all agree to it! But, another factor which adds on is lots of kilos to your body weight.

Being married to a fit-buff person sometimes may lead to some jabs which might feel insulting, mainly when you are surrounded by professional colleagues or your friends.

The harsh reality of life! Some men want everything to be in a single person and I am married to one…

It started with a normal conversation of body shaming and here I am from 70 to 55.7 kgs.

The Journey

To be true, with all the jabs and body shaming my husband MOTIVATED me to be FIT.

We started with 3 km of a daily walk which exceed 5 km after a week. It wasn’t a cut on my food but yes being in the company of people who eat salads and healthy food I got inspired and slowly brought it into my routine also.

After a while we started walking 7 km daily and somehow, I managed to lose inches.

After 2 months I decided to join the gym, roughly I remember it to be the year 2019. A person who is not aware of the weights and machines would hit the treadmill, the simplest and easiest way to consume your time in the gym.

It added cross-trainer and cycling into my list of working out around 30 min to max.

Aah! To add on… the clothes…hahaha. a sleeping pyjama and a TSHIRT!!

It went for around a year and with a little bit of workout and changes in my eating style, I somehow managed to cut down 5 kgs in a year. It was an achievement for me.

Here comes Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus and the lockdown happened.

The year 2021

It was the month of August and the gym started again after the lockdown was lifted and everything in the world was operational.

I was still friendly with my treadmill, cross trainer, and skipping.

I asked my husband to get me a personal trainer who could insist on proper exercise with postures, exercise reps & sets, and diet.

No, it was easy to get one, I managed to get one after a fracas. Then there was no looking back. I got myself trained and learned various exercises with proper postures.

I was hard on my diet and took the accurate quantity as advised to me. It was hard for a foodie like me to cut down on the food I love the most, but I had to prove to myself that I can do it and I have to do it.

In the meantime, I got enrolled in the INFS Diploma in Nutrition and Fitness. I have cleared the basic exam and am preparing for the mains.

After 6 complete months, I am a 56 kg female at 36 years of age and have a history of being active sportswomen till I wasn’t married.
