Throughout her childhood and even adolescence, Surbhi was always on the heavier side. She was a brainy kid with an All India AIEEE rank of 61000 and Uttarakhand rank of 700; but being overweight, she lacked self-confidence on a large scale. It all changed though in her second year of B.Tech!

Read on to know what pushed Surbhi into fitness and motivated her to become a personal trainer – a journey that will certainly leave you impressed.

The First Step Towards Fitness

Stepping into her college days to pursue B.Tech from a government institute, Surbhi was keen on not letting her past haunt her present. She wished to leave her obese days behind and not be body-shamed any longer. With a strong determination, Surbhi decided to take control of her health and took her first step towards fitness. Getting involved in workouts and exercising, she soon found it to be such fun! However, all of it was very short-lived due to exams and other commitments.

Managing time to attend lectures, study for exams, handle other responsibilities and then exercise became too overwhelming. Yet, the fire to get fit kept burning bright in Surbhi, and two years later, she started her fitness journey again.

The Challenge of Switching Career Paths

Surbhi left many in awe of her transformation! People all around her kept asking how she had managed to lose so much weight. This made her think if she should step into the field of fitness and guide people towards leading a healthy life. She did not want anyone to suffer like her from poor health and body shaming. It did not take long for Surbhi to realize her passion for helping people, and what better way than becoming a fitness coach and achieving that!

The challenge lied in switching career paths from being a B.Tech graduate to becoming a fitness coach. Having invested all the time and money in completing her degree course, Surbhi was second-guessing her decision of changing careers. But, choosing her passion, she took the leap of faith, and hasn’t once looked back ever since! Today, Surbhi is steadily making her way towards becoming a successful and financially stable personal trainer. By this date, she has transformed over 400 people.

Surbhi says that she owes her success to the one valuable lesson she had learned at INFS and that is to always help others. One needn’t treat others with inferiority to prove themselves superior.

Gaining Self-confidence

Being obese since childhood, Surbhi always lacked confidence. But, becoming a personal trainer, she has recognized her strength and her capability. She has developed immense trust in her own judgment. One of her most remarkable achievements was personally training a corporate group of 250 people at a time! Surbhi seeks motivation from her clients. When her clients approach to thank her for the role she has played in their lives, it leaves her feeling very satisfied. When they recommend her to their friends and family, it pushes her to keep doing better with each passing day.

Once an insecure person who was always short of confidence, Surbhi today wishes to be such a successful personal trainer that everyone awaits to be trained by her. In the next five years, she aims to be an inspiration for many who would want to become like her. She wants to guide those who are willing to work hard the way she has.

A Few Wise Words

The fitness industry is growing by the minute and numerous opportunities are getting generated for aspiring fitness professionals. For those aiming to become personal trainers, Surbhi has a simple piece of advice.

“Keep polishing yourself and you will grow into your best version. With hope and fire to achieve your dreams burning inside, you will certainly reach your goals.”
