INFS Alumni Interview Series

INFS Alumni Series: Making Dreams Come True

Today, we have with us a successful fitness professional! Someone who has actually made his dreams come true.

From being a client once to now being a fitness coach, Siddhartha has traveled a great journey.

Let’s go through his journey and learn more about his career path as a fitness coach.

Let’s start with a quick introduction. Please tell our readers something about yourself.

Like many others, I grew up watching ultra-macho man movies or Arnold, Sylvester, Bruce Lee.

Like many, I wanted to be big and strong.

Like many, I was an Engineer, a Management degree holder, and did an IT job unwillingly.

Unlike many, I decided to do things my way.

What inspired you to become a fitness coach?

I was once a client of FITTR. Here, I transformed myself. I felt that majority of the transformation was of the mindset. I felt it helped me change as a person and how I saw life. Then, I wanted to do the same for others.

What was the most valuable lesson you learned from INFS?

There is no diet with a secret formula.

How has being a fitness coach contributed to your overall health and wellness?

It gave me a rebirth. I am at my prime physique, I rarely fall sick, and I am more focused.

Describe a day in the life of a fitness coach.

My day starts off with a strength training session. I record a few videos/pics for educating/motivating my clients. I get on calls with my clients and we work together on addressing the various bottlenecks in their fitness journeys. In the second half, I design workouts and nutrition plans for new clients. Later in the evening and at night, I spend time with my family and dog.

What keeps you motivated as a fitness coach?

My clients. On some days, when I am not motivated enough or having Monday Blues, I look at my client’s workout and feel these guys are looking up to me and they are keeping the grind on. I must keep the fire alive and hence, push harder.

Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years as a fitness professional?

Well, I keep small realistic goals. I would want to have transformed 1k clients this year, finish my JPS certification, and get in decent shape to participate in the next year’s bodybuilding competition.

Career opportunities in the fitness industry are gaining popularity day by day. What would be your advice to fitness enthusiasts who dream of building a career in this industry?

Though the highly fragmented Indian fitness Industry will be soon touching USD 3 billion, there is plenty of scope to explore and organize this industry. Entering and sustaining won’t be easy but, would be rewarding.

Thank you Siddhartha for sharing your journey and advice with us. We are sure many aspiring fitness professionals will find your journey motivating & inspiring.
